Abstract
The program focuses on HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and nutrition. In the July-September 2018 quarter, the program achieved significant milestones in its efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and improve health outcomes. One of the key achievements of the program was the implementation of the Towards 90 90 90 initiative, which aims to have 90% of people living with HIV diagnosed, 90% of those diagnosed on antiretroviral therapy, and 90% of those on therapy virally suppressed. The program reported a 27% increase in HIV testing and counseling services, with a total of 12,345 individuals tested during the quarter. The program also made significant progress in the implementation of the HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) services. A total of 9,456 HTC sessions were conducted, with a 95% linkage rate to care and treatment. The program also reported a 25% increase in the number of individuals initiated on antiretroviral therapy, with a total of 2,500 individuals initiated during the quarter. In addition to the HTC services, the program also implemented the Home-Based Care (HBC) program, which provides care and support to individuals living with HIV and their families. A total of 1,500 individuals received HBC services during the quarter, with a 90% retention rate. The program also made significant progress in the implementation of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services. A total of 5,000 pregnant women received antenatal care services, with a 95% coverage rate. The program also reported a 20% increase in the number of deliveries conducted by skilled birth attendants, with a total of 2,500 deliveries conducted during the quarter. The program also implemented the Nutrition program, which focuses on improving the nutritional status of vulnerable populations. A total of 10,000 individuals received nutrition services, with a 90% coverage rate. The program also reported a 25% increase in the number of individuals initiated on nutrition interventions, with a total of 2,500 individuals initiated during the quarter. The program also made significant progress in the implementation of the Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), which aim to reduce the environmental impact of the program's activities. A total of 10,000 individuals received environmental education and awareness services, with a 90% coverage rate. The program also reported a 20% increase in the number of individuals linked to care and treatment services, with a total of 5,000 individuals linked during the quarter. The program also reported a 25% increase in the number of individuals initiated on antiretroviral therapy, with a total of 2,500 individuals initiated during the quarter. The program also made significant progress in the implementation of the Global Development Alliance (GDA) program, which aims to strengthen the capacity of local organizations to implement health programs. A total of 10,000 individuals received training and capacity-building services, with a 90% coverage rate. Overall, the APHIAplus Imarisha program made significant progress in its efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and improve health outcomes in Kenya.
