Abstract
The reserve spans an area of 112.3 hectares, as defined by the boundaries of the "Los Musos" property, which was registered as a civil society nature reserve by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development through Resolution No. 0133 on November 12, 2014. The reserve is situated between the geographical coordinates of 4° 41'0'' and 4° 41'4''N and -71° 33'10'' and -71° 33'40''W. The area is characterized by a diverse range of ecosystems, including agrosystems, amortiguación zones, conservation areas, and zones of intensive use and infrastructure. The conservation area, which covers the largest portion of the reserve, corresponds to the wooded areas along the banks of the Meta and Cravo Sur rivers. A narrow strip of amortiguación zone borders the conservation and intensive use zones. The agrosystem zone is designated for extensive cattle grazing on natural pastures, characteristic of the Llanos inundables region. The intensive use zone includes an old residential area currently in disuse. For more information on permitted uses in each zone, the plan of management for the reserve should be consulted.
