AID cooperative agreement no. EUR-0032-A-00-1074-00 with Catholic Relief Services in support of a three year project entitled `private voluntary organization (PVO) humanitarian/development initiatives project"

CRS will implement the program through Hopitaux du Monde, a Belgian-based NGO. The donations -- mostly of consumable supplies, essential medicines, and relatively low technology equipment -- will supply the hospitals with up to two-thirds of their needs for a period of 6 months. Specialized training will be provided to medical professionals, as needed, to use the equipment they receive. The project will also strengthen the administrative and managerial capacity of the health institutions served. The project is a response to the dire conditions of the medical and hospital systems in both host countries.
