Grant is provided under the Management Training and Economics Education Project to Midwest Universities Consortium for International Activities (MUCIA) to continue efforts begun under an earlier grant (see PD-FCU-857) to conduct training courses for business managers in Hungary and Czechoslovakia.
1993

Abstract
MUCIA faculty, in conjunction with host country academics, will teach a total of eight modules, each conducted over a period of one week, covering accounting, business economics, finance, human resource management, logistics, marketing, production, and strategy, with an expected attendance of 40 participants per module. The program will incorporate lessons learned from the earlier MUCIA grant; new initiatives will include greater involvement of local faculty and translation of selected course materials into local languages. Other activities will include publication of a casebook (based on materials developed under the original grant), attendance of core host country faculty at U.S. executive education programs, a summer workshop to develop an executive education strategy for Eastern European markets, and development of a module on export marketing.
