Abstract
The projects are being implemented by Trigon Associates, LLC, under the supervision of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Jordan Mission. JSEP Phase II, III, and IV, as well as SKEP Phase I and II, are currently underway. The projects involve the construction of new schools, renovations of existing schools, and the provision of utilities such as electricity and water. The construction process is being carried out by various contractors, including Sadeen Contracting, Al Mostaqbal Al Joud Contracting, and Mohammad Tahayneh for Contracting. As of the current reporting period, significant progress has been made in various aspects of the projects. For instance, in JSEP Phase I, all packages have been closed out, and the remaining punch list items are being addressed by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) and the contractor. In SKEP Phase I, all schools have been completed, and utilities connections have been completed. However, delays have been reported in some packages, particularly in JSEP Phase II and III, where utilities connections are still in progress. In SKEP Phase II, construction is underway, but obstacles have been encountered at Al Thanieh School due to existing electrical poles and underground cables. Trigon is working with the contractor to address these challenges and improve the rate of progress. The projects are being monitored closely by Trigon, and regular meetings are being held with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH), the contractors, and USAID to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide recommendations for improvement. The projects are expected to be completed by the end of November, with Trigon continuing to follow up on the renovation works and providing updated status reports. In addition to the construction activities, Trigon is also working on various administrative tasks, including the preparation of procurement summaries and schedules, and the submission of reports to USAID. The company has also met with various stakeholders, including Kaizen and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH), to discuss project-related issues and provide updates on the progress of the projects. Overall, the JSEP and SKEP projects are making significant progress, with various contractors working to complete the construction of new schools and the renovation of existing ones. While delays have been reported in some packages, Trigon is working closely with the contractors and stakeholders to address these challenges and ensure the successful completion of the projects.
