Abstract
The projects are being implemented by Trigon Associates, LLC, under an IDIQ contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Jordan Mission. As of July 25, 2019, the JSEP has 144 active project sites, with 27 schools in Phase I, 36 schools in Phase II, and 81 schools in Phase III and IV. The SKEP has 15 active project sites, with 3 schools in Phase I and 12 schools in Phase II. The projects are being implemented by various contractors, including Sadeen Contracting, Al Joud Contracting, and Mohammad Tahayneh for Contracting. The JSEP Phase I has been completed, with all packages closed out. However, remaining punch list items are still pending between the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) and the contractor. The JSEP Phase II has also made progress, with three schools completed and six schools still pending. Utilities remain a major challenge, with minor progress reported. The SKEP Phase I has also made progress, with three schools substantially completed. Utilities connections are still in progress. The SKEP Phase II has construction underway, with 65-67% completion reported for one package and 26-34% completion reported for another package. Trigon Associates has been working closely with the MPWH, the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the supervising firms to address the challenges faced by the projects. The company has also been following up with USAID and the contractors to ensure that the projects are completed on time and within budget. The JSEP and SKEP projects are expected to improve the education infrastructure in Jordan, providing better facilities and resources for students and teachers. The projects are also expected to contribute to the country's economic development and social stability. The implementation of the JSEP and SKEP projects is a complex process, requiring close coordination and collaboration among various stakeholders. Trigon Associates is working diligently to ensure that the projects are completed successfully and that the benefits are realized by the people of Jordan. The projects are being implemented over a period of three years, from September 16, 2018, to September 15, 2021. The projects are being funded by USAID, with a total budget of $15 million. The projects are expected to benefit over 100,000 students and teachers in Jordan. The JSEP and SKEP projects are part of a broader effort to improve education infrastructure in Jordan. The projects are expected to contribute to the country's economic development and social stability, and to provide better opportunities for students and teachers.
