Abstract
The project aims to provide an integrated approach to knowledge generation, dissemination, and application for the United States Agency for International Development's (USAID) Bureau of Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3)/Land and Urban Office (LU) and Office of Local Sustainability (LS). CEL's approach is guided by key concepts that acknowledge the importance of communicating and building capacity among various stakeholders, including USAID, USG interagency partners, local implementers, and host country governments. The project views knowledge generation, dissemination, and application as an integrated system, where each element informs and influences the others. During the second quarter of project year 2 (October through December 2019), CEL advanced key activities in the work plan for knowledge generation, dissemination, and application. Highlights of the work completed in this quarter include: Knowledge Generation Activities: * Final feasibility assessment report for the impact evaluation (IE) of the Land for Prosperity (LfP) project in Colombia * Stand-alone analyses on determinants of cocoa productivity and willingness-to-pay analysis * Presentation on food security and findings for the Bureau for Food Security (BFS) brown bag * Feasibility assessment report for the Tenure and Climate Change (TGCC) Zambia IE final report * Posting of India and Mali land profiles on LandLinks * Analysis of LANDex, GBV, and MAST brief, and Conservation incentives lit review Knowledge Dissemination Activities: * LandLinks and UrbanLinks content and newsletters * UrbanLinks redesign * New ocean plastic media scan and webinar for the Circulate Cross-Pilot Workshops in Indonesia and Sri Lanka * Preparation support for the Ocean Plastic team at the annual Infrastructure Officers Conference Knowledge Application Activities: * Full-day Ocean Plastics team Vision, Stakeholders, and Stakeholders retreat * Half-day inter-agency learning sessions on Plastic Collection Systems and Plastic Collection Systems * Planning and facilitation support for the MWRP Cross-Pilot Workshops in Indonesia and Sri Lanka The Land Team/LU Office achieved several key accomplishments during the second quarter of project year 2, including: * Submission of the final feasibility assessment for the LfP project in Colombia * Completion of a draft on the determinants of cocoa productivity * Completion of a draft on the conservation incentives lit review * Completion of a presentation on food security and findings for the BFS brown bag The CEL project aims to provide an integrated approach to knowledge generation, dissemination, and application for USAID's E3/LU and LS.
