Abstract
The reserve covers an area of 1,251.8 hectares, as defined by the boundaries of the "La Campana" property, which was registered with Parques Nacionales as the Reserva Natural de la Sociedad Civil "La Campana" through Resolution 152 on December 3, 2014. The reserve's coordinates are 1085750.653 m N, 2151385.249598 m E, 2156029.483906 m O, and 1080244.409 m S. The reserve's zoning is divided into three areas: conservación, amortiguación, and uso intensivo e infraestructura. However, the majority of the reserve, approximately 1133.41 hectares, is designated as a conservation zone. This area includes the forests of the Caño Amarillo and the characteristic savannas of the Andén Orinoqués. A narrow strip of amortiguación zone is located to the south of the conservation zone. No areas are designated for agrosistemas or uso intensivo. For more information on the permitted uses in each zone, the plan de manejo de la reserva should be consulted. The reserve's location in the Andén Orinoqués region provides a unique opportunity for conservation efforts. The Andén Orinoqués is a mountain range that stretches across the northern part of Colombia, and it is characterized by a diverse range of ecosystems, including forests, savannas, and grasslands. The reserve's conservation zone is home to a variety of plant and animal species, including the Caño Amarillo forest, which is a critical habitat for several endangered species. The reserve's management plan, or plan de manejo de la reserva, is essential for ensuring the long-term conservation of the reserve's ecosystems and biodiversity. The plan outlines the permitted uses in each zone, as well as the measures to be taken to protect the reserve's natural resources. The plan also provides a framework for the reserve's management, including the establishment of rules and regulations for visitors, the development of infrastructure, and the implementation of conservation efforts. The establishment of the Reserva Natural de la Sociedad Civil La Campana is a significant step towards the conservation of the Andén Orinoqués region's ecosystems and biodiversity. The reserve provides a safe haven for endangered species and helps to maintain the region's ecological balance. The reserve's management plan will play a critical role in ensuring the long-term conservation of the reserve's ecosystems and biodiversity.
