Abstract
The program focuses on creating public local protected areas, such as the Creación de un Área Protegida Pública Local in the Municipio de Dagua, Valle del Cauca. This initiative is part of the broader effort to establish a network of protected areas in Colombia. Colombia's protected area system is categorized into several types, including Parques Nacionales Naturales, Reservas Forestales Protectoras, Parques Nacionales Regionales, Distrito de Manejo Integrado, and Distrito de Conservación de Suelos. Parques Nacionales Naturales are areas of extension that allow for ecological self-regulation and have not been substantially altered by human exploitation or occupation. Reservas Forestales Protectoras are geographic spaces where forest ecosystems maintain their function and natural values are made accessible to the human population for preservation, sustainable use, restoration, knowledge, and enjoyment. The Conservacolombia initiative aims to establish a network of protected areas that are managed and regulated at the local level. This includes the creation of Distritos de Manejo Integrado, which are geographic spaces where landscapes and ecosystems maintain their composition and function, although their structure may have been modified. The initiative also focuses on the establishment of Distritos de Conservación de Suelos, which are areas that are subject to special management aimed at recovering altered or degraded soils or preventing phenomena that cause alteration or degradation in areas that are particularly vulnerable due to their physical or climatic conditions or the type of use that develops in them. The Conservacolombia initiative is part of a broader effort to establish a network of protected areas in Colombia that are managed and regulated at the local level. This includes the creation of public local protected areas, such as the Creación de un Área Protegida Pública Local in the Municipio de Dagua, Valle del Cauca. The initiative aims to establish a network of protected areas that are managed and regulated at the local level, with a focus on creating Distritos de Manejo Integrado and Distritos de Conservación de Suelos. The Conservacolombia initiative has established several protected areas, including the Enclave Subxerofitico de Atuncela, which was designated as a Distrito de Manejo Integrado in 2007. The initiative also aims to establish a network of protected areas that are managed and regulated at the local level, with a focus on creating public local protected areas, such as the Creación de un Área Protegida Pública Local in the Municipio de Dagua, Valle del Cauca.
