Abstract
The project is divided into two main components: Project 1, Well #17 Pump Station and Conveyance System, and Project 2, Jaba' Nuba Main Transmission Pipeline. Public relations and outreach activities during the month of October 2012 included taking photos of project activities, submitting a draft project flyer to USAID for approval, holding meetings with local councils to introduce the project, and installing project temporary signs. Two project temporary signs were installed, one at the entrance of Za'atara and one at Well 17 Location. Safety and environmental status reports were submitted to the CMC, and safety training was conducted for IRD Safety and Environmental Compliance Officers. Traffic management plans were studied and proposed, with one lane maintained open to facilitate public traffic movement. Detours will be provided to reroute traffic, and construction work for a narrow road segment will be carried out during night shifts with emergency access for residents. Security coordination activities included meetings with Bethlehem DCL and Bet El to introduce the project and discuss security coordination. Equipment delivered to the project site included survey equipment, a JCB, and a bulldozer. No materials were delivered to the project site during the current reporting period. Project progress status indicates that the project is currently on track, with 3.6% actual percentage complete and 4% planned percentage complete. A total of 26 submittals were submitted for this project, with 21 submittals reviewed and one retracted. The project overall status is that it is currently on track, with no mitigation action needed. Construction activities completed during the current reporting period include conducting field surveying work for the pump station yard and along the route of the conveyance system. Planned activities for the next month include completing the surveying work, conducting excavation and trenching, and installing the conveyance system. The project is being implemented by International Relief and Development, Inc. (IRD), with Al Abassi General Contractors Company Ltd. as the subcontractor. The project is funded by USAID's Infrastructure Needs Program II.
