Abstract
The project is part of the Infrastructure Needs Program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project is being implemented by International Relief and Development, Inc. (IRD), with Arab Brothers for Precast Industries and Contracting as the subcontractor. The project consists of two main components: the Southwest Nablus Villages Water Supply (SWT) and the Az Zawieh Network Project (ZWN). The SWT component aims to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply to the villages of Madama, Asira Al Qibliya, and Urif, while the ZWN component focuses on upgrading the water network in the Az Zawieh area. During the reporting period of December 1-31, 2013, IRD continued to implement the approved safety plan, which includes traffic management and safety meetings with the subcontractor. No accidents occurred during the reporting period, and the safety level is considered satisfactory. The project is on schedule, with a planned percentage complete of 42.32% and an actual percentage complete of 42.32%. However, the project is still behind the original schedule due to severe weather conditions. IRD conducted a total of 23 submittals, including resubmittals, during the reporting period. Review comments were received for 14 submittals, with the Engineer's review time ranging from 1 day to 21 days. The submittals disposition status shows that 1 submittal was accepted without exceptions, 10 submittals required corrections, and 3 submittals required amendments and resubmission. Construction activities completed during the reporting period include fixing steel reinforcement for the roof slab at the Madama Reservoir, installing mechanical and electrical inserts, casting concrete for the roof slab, and constructing retaining walls. The planned construction activities for the next month include completing the installation of formwork for the roof slab at the Asira Al Qibliya Reservoir and the Urif Reservoir, and fixing steel reinforcement for the roof slab at the Urif Reservoir. The project overall status is considered satisfactory, with IRD continuing to implement the project according to the revised baseline schedule. However, the project is still behind the original schedule due to severe weather conditions. IRD will continue to monitor the project progress and adjust the resources as necessary to maintain the achieved momentum.
