Abstract
This participatory process aims to examine six activity-level nutrition-sensitive agriculture outcomes and develop specific interventions that fit within the existing scope of the activity. The workshop is intended for all individuals involved in designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing agriculture-led economic growth activities that aim to increase production, income, resilience, and/or market competitiveness, while also seeking to improve the nutrition of poor and vulnerable households. A multi-disciplinary team is essential for this process, and ideally, a nutritionist or a person familiar with the nutrition situation in the activity's target area should participate. The facilitation team will use this guide and two PowerPoint slide decks to conduct the workshop. The workshop is designed to be practical and feasible, leveraging the existing strengths of the activity team. The goal is to ensure that agricultural market systems development activities are able to document and explain their contributions to nutrition goals. The workshop will cover several key topics, including prioritizing nutrition-sensitive agriculture outcomes, developing strategies and interventions, and defining monitoring indicators. The facilitation team will use a variety of exercises and activities to guide the participants through these topics, including the use of matrices and frameworks to help identify and prioritize nutrition-sensitive agriculture outcomes and interventions. Throughout the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and activities that will help them develop a deeper understanding of the importance of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and how to design and implement effective interventions. The workshop will also provide participants with the tools and resources they need to document and explain their contributions to nutrition goals. The workshop is designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the activity team, and the facilitation team will work closely with the participants to ensure that the workshop meets their needs and goals. The workshop will conclude with a clear plan of action and a set of post-workshop action items to help the activity team implement the recommendations and interventions developed during the workshop. The facilitation team will use a variety of resources and tools to support the workshop, including the Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture Design Guide Workshop Facilitator's Guide, two PowerPoint slide decks, and a range of handouts and matrices. These resources will provide participants with the information and tools they need to design and implement effective nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions. The workshop is an important step in the process of designing and implementing effective nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions. By bringing together a multi-disciplinary team and providing them with the tools and resources they need, the workshop will help activity teams develop a deeper understanding of the importance of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and how to design and implement effective interventions.
