Abstract
The activity aims to improve health outcomes for underserved Filipinos through family planning and maternal and neonatal health innovations and capacity building platforms. The activity began on December 1, 2018, and is scheduled to end on November 30, 2023. The quarterly report for January 1–March 31, 2021, was submitted on April 30, 2021, and resubmitted on July 13, 2021. The report highlights key achievements for the quarter, including the strengthening of healthy behaviors in underserved populations, the expansion of quality, client-centered, respectful family planning and maternal and neonatal health care and services, and the bolstering of national, regional, and local systems and capacities to manage, implement, and sustain family planning and maternal and neonatal health programs and policies. The report also presents performance status, including the performance of key indicators by objectives and cross-cutting results. Objective 1 focuses on strengthening healthy behaviors in underserved populations, while Objective 2 aims to expand quality, client-centered, respectful family planning and maternal and neonatal health care and services. Objective 3 targets the bolstering of national, regional, and local systems and capacities to manage, implement, and sustain family planning and maternal and neonatal health programs and policies. Cross-cutting results include the development and promotion of sustainable and innovative solutions to family planning challenges, the implementation of a transformative gender approach and action plan, and the establishment of an electronic data management system and a culture of learning within the project and with partners. The report also highlights key challenges and proposed solutions, including updates on sustainability and self-reliance, gender, PSE, FP ICV compliance, environmental compliance and climate risk mitigation, and engagement of civil society organizations and people's organizations. The report also discusses collaboration, learning, and adapting, including coordination and collaboration, learning, and adaptive management. Additionally, the report presents management, administrative, and financial aspects, including high-level planned activities for the next quarter and upcoming events. The activity has made significant progress in improving health outcomes for underserved Filipinos through family planning and maternal and neonatal health innovations and capacity building platforms. The report highlights the importance of continued collaboration, learning, and adapting to address the complex health challenges faced by underserved populations in the Philippines.
