Abstract
This type of class is often found in schools with limited resources or in remote areas where access to education is limited. The Multigrade class is designed to cater to the diverse needs of students from different grade levels, with the goal of providing a more inclusive and effective learning environment. The Basa Pilipinas project, in collaboration with the Department of Education, has developed a set of materials to support the teaching of Multigrade classes. These materials include Teacher's Guides, Read Aloud stories, and Leveled Readers, which are designed to cater to the needs of students from different grade levels. The materials are organized into two cycles: the Even cycle and the Odd cycle, which correspond to the two-year instructional sequence of the Multigrade class. The Even cycle is designed for students in the 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 school years, while the Odd cycle is designed for students in the 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021 school years. Each cycle consists of a two-week instructional sequence, with a focus on a specific theme or topic. The materials are designed to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of students from different grade levels, with the goal of promoting inclusive and effective learning. The Teacher's Guides provide a framework for teaching the Multigrade class, with a focus on the Even cycle and the Odd cycle. The guides include a list of topics and themes to be covered, as well as suggested activities and exercises for students. The guides also include a section on Dagdag na Tala sa Pagtuturo ng Multigrade, which provides additional tips and suggestions for teachers. The Read Aloud stories and Leveled Readers are designed to support the teaching of reading and language skills in the Multigrade class. The stories and readers are organized into different levels, with a focus on promoting reading comprehension and vocabulary development. The materials are designed to be engaging and interactive, with the goal of promoting a love of reading and learning among students. The Basa Pilipinas project has also developed a set of Lingguhang Gabay ng Guro sa Filipino para sa Multigrade na Klase, which provides a framework for teaching Filipino language and literature in the Multigrade class. The guides include a list of topics and themes to be covered, as well as suggested activities and exercises for students. The guides also include a section on Dagdag na Tala sa Pagtuturo ng Multigrade, which provides additional tips and suggestions for teachers.
