Abstract
The project is implemented by CDM International Inc. in association with National Development Consultants. The EIMS team is responsible for monitoring work progress at project sites, conducting site inspections, and issuing certificates of milestone completion. During the period of October 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022, the EIMS team monitored work progress at the project sites by conducting site inspection visits and performing desk reviews and studies of documents obtained from sites. Site visits included physical verification for certification of completed milestones items and monitoring the work progress of ongoing project-related activities. Based on the review of available documents and physical inspection on-site by the EIMS inspection teams, four certificates of milestones completion were issued amounting to USD $3,209,017.87 during this reporting quarter. The security situation at Mangla Dam Rehabilitation Project (MDRP) and Tarbela Dam Repair and Maintenance Project Phase II (TDRP) remained suitable for work on-site, and the EIMS team was able to conduct their site visits periodically, according to their work plan and Task Order requirements. However, the security situation at Kurram Tangi Dam Project (KTDP) remained unsettled and continued to impact work progress at different project components. Work continued but at a slow pace owing to the security situation as well as other project administrative and technical issues. The EIMS team issued certificates of milestone completion for a total value of USD $3,209,017.87 during this reporting quarter. The EIMS team worked closely with the Government of Pakistan (GoP) project staff and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the project. The team also conducted quality assurance activities, including desk reviews and studies of documents obtained from sites, to ensure that the project was implemented in accordance with the Task Order requirements. The EIMS team will continue to monitor work progress at the project sites and conduct site inspections and quality assurance activities to ensure the successful implementation of the project. The team will also work closely with the Government of Pakistan (GoP) project staff and other stakeholders to address any issues or challenges that may arise during the implementation of the project. The EIMS team has identified several implementation challenges during this reporting quarter, including security threats at Kurram Tangi Dam Project (KTDP) and administrative and technical issues at the project sites.
