The Rapid Damage Assessment Form (RDA) is a tool used for assessing damage to building structures following a disaster.

Abstract
The form is designed to provide a rapid assessment of the extent of damage to a building, allowing for quick identification of structures that are safe to occupy and those that require further evaluation or repair. The form is divided into several sections, including General Details of Structure, Assessment of Particulars, Structural Details, Visual Observation of Damages, and Rapid Damage Assessment Summary. The General Details of Structure section captures information about the building, including its name, address, and ID number, as well as the name and ID number of the RDA inspector. The Assessment of Particulars section captures information about the disaster, including the type of disaster, the date and time of the inspection, and the RDA inspector's ID number. The Structural Details section captures information about the building's structural system, including its footprint, superstructure, and substructure. The Visual Observation of Damages section captures information about the extent of damage to the building's structural and non-structural elements, including external walls, cladding/glazing, external columns, ceiling, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and waste water systems. The section also captures information about external site damages, including framed connections, staircases, utility poles, trees, and landslips. The Rapid Damage Assessment Summary section provides a summary of the assessment, including the assessment position/tag of the structure, the type of assessment conducted, and whether further assessment is required. The section also includes a remarks/comments section for the RDA inspector to provide additional information. The form uses a rating system to assess the extent of damage, with ratings ranging from 0 (none) to 3 (major). The form also includes a picture attachment section for the RDA inspector to attach photographs of the damaged building. The RDA form is used by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) and other stakeholders in Trinidad and Tobago to assess damage to building structures following a disaster. The form is designed to provide a rapid and accurate assessment of the extent of damage, allowing for quick identification of structures that are safe to occupy and those that require further evaluation or repair. The form is used in conjunction with other tools and protocols to assess damage to building structures, including the Prepare TT Project, which is a disaster risk reduction and management project funded by the European Union. The project aims to reduce the vulnerability of communities in Trinidad and Tobago to natural hazards, including hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. The RDA form is an important tool in the disaster risk reduction and management process, as it provides a rapid and accurate assessment of the extent of damage to building structures. The form is used to inform decision-making about the safety of buildings and the need for further evaluation or repair, and it helps to ensure that communities are safe and resilient in the face of natural hazards.
