Abstract
The Resilience in Action Series aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice for integrating a resilience lens in programming. This series addresses questions such as how a resilience lens changes the design of interventions in key sectors or crosscutting themes, and how to shift the design and implementation of sectoral interventions to promote resilience-building within programs. The Resilience Evaluation, Analysis and Learning (REAL) Associate Award is a consortium-led effort funded by the USAID Center for Resilience. This award responds to growing demand among USAID Missions, host governments, implementing organizations, and other key stakeholders for rigorous, yet practical, monitoring, evaluation, strategic analysis, and capacity building support. The REAL Associate Award is led by Save the Children, in partnership with Food for the Hungry, Mercy Corps, and TANGO International. Climate and Ecosystem-Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction involves integrating climate and ecosystem considerations into disaster risk reduction efforts. This approach recognizes that climate change and ecosystem degradation can exacerbate disaster risks, and that addressing these underlying factors is critical to building resilience. The REAL Associate Award supports the development of climate and ecosystem-inclusive disaster risk reduction strategies and programs. The REAL Associate Award provides technical assistance and capacity building support to USAID Missions, host governments, and implementing organizations. This support includes monitoring and evaluation, strategic analysis, and capacity building in areas such as climate and ecosystem-inclusive disaster risk reduction. The award also facilitates knowledge sharing and learning among stakeholders, with the goal of promoting best practices and improving resilience-building efforts. The REAL Associate Award is part of the Resilience in Action Series, which aims to promote resilience-building in key sectors and crosscutting themes. The series addresses questions such as how a resilience lens changes the design of interventions, and how to shift the design and implementation of sectoral interventions to promote resilience-building within programs. The REAL Associate Award is a critical component of this effort, providing technical assistance and capacity building support to stakeholders working on climate and ecosystem-inclusive disaster risk reduction.
