Abstract
The activity was implemented by DevWorks International, with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The HHA's main objective was to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Nepal to deliver quality health services and promote hygiene practices among the population. During the reporting period of July 15, 2022, to July 14, 2023, the HHA made significant progress in achieving its objectives. The activity focused on improving the quality of health service delivery, particularly in the areas of water supply and sanitation facilities, infection prevention and control, and hygiene behavior change communication. The HHA also worked closely with the Government of Nepal, implementing partners, and local stakeholders to ensure that the activity's goals were aligned with the country's health and hygiene priorities. The HHA's progress was measured through various indicators, including the completion of construction works for water supply and sanitation facilities, the implementation of infection prevention and control measures, and the adoption of hygiene behavior change communication activities. The activity also supported the Government of Nepal's Hygiene Promotion Through Routine Immunization (HPTRI) program, which aimed to promote hygiene practices among mothers and children. The HHA's management structure consisted of a Chief of Party, a Deputy Chief of Party, and a team of technical experts who worked closely with the Government of Nepal and implementing partners to ensure the activity's success. The activity's budget was managed through a cost-share contribution from USAID and the Government of Nepal. Despite the progress made, the HHA faced several challenges, including security issues and delays in the implementation of certain activities. However, the activity's management team worked closely with stakeholders to address these challenges and ensure that the activity's goals were achieved. The HHA's priorities for the final year of the reporting period (July 15, 2023, to August 21, 2024) included completing outstanding activities, addressing security issues, and ensuring the sustainability of the activity's achievements. The activity's performance was measured through a performance measurement table, which tracked progress against various indicators. The HHA's seventh annual progress report highlights the activity's achievements and challenges during the reporting period. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the activity's progress, including its management structure, budget, and performance indicators. The report also highlights the activity's priorities for the final year of the reporting period and provides recommendations for future activities. The HHA's progress report is an important tool for stakeholders, including USAID, the Government of Nepal, and implementing partners. The report provides valuable information on the activity's achievements and challenges, which can inform future activities and ensure the sustainability of the activity's achievements.
